The BallsportARENA Dresden was inaugurated in April 2017. It offers the handball club HC Elbflorenz the optimal conditions for the areas of training, competition, youth development as well as performance promotion.
The goal of the arena is to establish the professional sport of handball in Dresden. But the multifunctional BallsportArena can also be used for other types of sports and events: The playing field is suitable for all ball sports, as well as for concerts, trade fairs or dance events. For this purpose, LEDs are installed in the glass floor, which can be faded in as playing lines in each case in adaptation to the respective sport. This technology comes from the manufacturer ASB GlassFloor.
The arena was also equipped with ccc's video analysis system utilius kiwano, which provides optimal support for handball while being forward-looking and meeting the latest standards.
The multi-camera system consists of seven PTZ cameras with integrated pan and zoom function. The trainer can thus view the player from multiple perspectives. A special tagging mask has also been developed for post-recording evaluation - optimally tailored to handball training: The coach can tag important game scenes within a few seconds and thus provide direct feedback on moves. An initial evaluation can thus already take place during the game.
