The Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf has undergone extensive renovation and partial reconstruction in 2019 and 2020 to ensure the best possible training conditions for years to come. In the process, a multicamera system from ccc will also be installed to be technologically up to date.
The "Audi Arena Oberstdorf" consists of the Schattenberg ski jumps K120, K90, K56, K30 and K19. The two largest ski jumps are now equipped with a video analysis system.
Camera system for ski jumps in Oberstdorf
The system is equipped with 8 side cameras, one "observer camera" and one PTZ camera ("rear camera").
The side cameras and the rear camera are triggered automatically thanks to the light barrier system. The utilius kiwano software then automatically edits the footage so that the jumper is always in the picture. The observer camera films the athlete from the front before the jump to guarantee an exact allocation of the videos. And finally, a PTZ camera films the jump from behind, automatically tracking the athlete. ccc already has a comparable system in use in Oberhof at the Rennsteig ski jump.
The hardware, including cameras and light barriers, has already been successfully installed. Currently, final electrical work and an application test of the entire system are still pending.
